Lovely.

Just got back from the nutritionist. I weigh 206 lbs at 5'6" tall. This is so many kinds of not good. I want to be thin and energetic again. The biggest thing that bites about this? I eat when I am stressed. Finding out I weigh ten pounds more than I thought? Stresses me out more.
To add joy to the equation, she had no idea why I weigh so much when I eat so little.

:(

Mom just called & said she'll pay to have Ghostie put down. She wanted me to have it done tonight -- right. Because the vets are open Saturday evenings and I want to have killed three of my kids this week. Instead it is happening Monday.
Can we have me put down next? I'm a mean old dog who needs to be put out of her misery, come on!

I Am A: True Neutral Human Ranger (6th Level)

Ability Scores:

Strength-17

Dexterity-15

Constitution-17

Intelligence-18

Wisdom-16

Charisma-15

Alignment:
True Neutral A true neutral character does what seems to be a good idea. He doesn't feel strongly one way or the other when it comes to good vs. evil or law vs. chaos. Most true neutral characters exhibit a lack of conviction or bias rather than a commitment to neutrality. Such a character thinks of good as better than evil after all, he would rather have good neighbors and rulers than evil ones. Still, he's not personally committed to upholding good in any abstract or universal way. Some true neutral characters, on the other hand, commit themselves philosophically to neutrality. They see good, evil, law, and chaos as prejudices and dangerous extremes. They advocate the middle way of neutrality as the best, most balanced road in the long run. True neutral is the best alignment you can be because it means you act naturally, without prejudice or compulsion. However, true neutral can be a dangerous alignment because it represents apathy, indifference, and a lack of conviction.

Race:
Humans are the most adaptable of the common races. Short generations and a penchant for migration and conquest have made them physically diverse as well. Humans are often unorthodox in their dress, sporting unusual hairstyles, fanciful clothes, tattoos, and the like.

Class:
Rangers are skilled stalkers and hunters who make their home in the woods. Their martial skill is nearly the equal of the fighter, but they lack the latter's dedication to the craft of fighting. Instead, the ranger focuses his skills and training on a specific enemy a type of creature he bears a vengeful grudge against and hunts above all others. Rangers often accept the role of protector, aiding those who live in or travel through the woods. His skills allow him to move quietly and stick to the shadows, especially in natural settings, and he also has special knowledge of certain types of creatures. Finally, an experienced ranger has such a tie to nature that he can actually draw on natural power to cast divine spells, much as a druid does, and like a druid he is often accompanied by animal companions. A ranger's Wisdom score should be high, as this determines the maximum spell level that he can cast.

Sad week.

Tuesday I had to have Bruno put down. Probable stomach cancer. Yesterday I had to have Spike put down. Heart issues that the treatment for them would conflict with his asthma treatment. Can I please have a few years with no kitty deaths now? I hurt.

If anyone has a stash of military ration packs they aren't using, please send them this way; I now have no money for food & will possibly lose my internet & phone soon.

Dear life; please may I have a well paid job and health for myself and my pets soon?

I really love my cats

I do love every one of them, but having more than nine means I have to sit down and write their names on a list and invariably struggle to figure out which one I've missed when the list comes up short. Maybe it has more to do with my age than the number of cats at this point; either way I have to make the list if I do the head count and come up short or if it is time for flea meds. Luckily the flea meds cure the ear mites as well; now I just need to come up with the money for two more rounds of flea treatment and a full round of tapeworm meds. About another 250$ or so. If any of you are at all near New Minas, Nova Scotia and are looking for a car, please go to Summit Hyundai and ask to talk to Mark Black, and tell him I sent you. Once the deal is set and you drive off in your new Hyundai, I get a referral bonus. For the month of November that is 200$ per referral to help with my kitty bills.

*cough hack wheeeze*

Been on Cephalexin(?) for three days out of seven now. Still feel rather like roadkill. So very, very tired. Need some happy thoughts, a trip to England, and a good snog or twelve.
If anyone has some spare kitty Advantage sitting around, please mail it to me? Same goes if anyone has a few skeins of basic black pure worsted weight wool yarn. I have teh knitting urge!
The pump on the well here has burned out, we need a new one.
Being sick, I haven't gotten to fix the front window nor the kitchen one, nor seal up the barn yet. I hate losing a week to bronchitis.
Stabbed foot is still puffy. Mercifully doesn't hurt, but it isn't "right" either.

In the plus column/things for which I am grateful:

Mother paid the 65$ for my antibiotics. She is also right next door so I can stagger over & get water by the jug.

All the coughing is tightening my abs.

I am strong enough to lift 16 litres of water in one hand. :D

Friend Krista is letting me shower at her place. Her four year old son is a lovebug and makes me smile every day.

The heat is provided by the water pumped through the apt. -- this is a plus, since the lack of heat seems to be slowing the flea reproduction down some.

Having already had the tetanus shot in recent years I didn't have to have it again.

There are gents in my life worth flirting with.

I have all sorts of intelligent friends online with whom to have wonderful conversations!

I've slept within the past day! (For a while the cough was causing sleep deprivation which makes me whackadoo. Sleep is a very good thing!)

I feel loved. :)

Can anyone tell me

I am trying to figure out how to view older entries on dreamwidth. Is it possible or do I have to get them while they are hot or miss them entirely? Maybe I am just not seeing something that is close enough to bite off the tip of my nose.

In other news, I have a cold, and Buddy cat now has a habit of trying to eat my jewellery. Good thing I don't own any heirloom quality pieces!

Blizzcon

I got a message from Blizzard today in my e-mail inviting me to buy a virtual pass to Blizzcon; is it a bad sign that I am geeky enough to consider watching a con online to be almost as fun as actually going to one? I can't afford it, of course, and even if I had the money it would have to go towards the flea drops for the cats. Three months of Revolution for all of them is going to cost me around 240$ that I have to find somehow. Blizzard just happens to be the company that makes the only two games I have ever really become addicted to though, and the costume contests at their conventions are amazing. Makes me wish I had the skills and materials to do the costumes these folks come up with. Guess I will just have to watch the clips that get posted to YouTube instead, and focus on finding a way to get to the new local convention if it manages to run more than one year.

WTF?

I just woke up from a very weird dream. In said dream I was giving birth -- to a litter of puppies. Most of them were white, a couple were Nova Scotia Duck Toller brown. In my dream it didn't seem to bother me at all that this was happening; I just carried on as if everything were normal, setting the pups on a towel after making sure each was breathing and moving. One was really adorable, white pup with a brown spot on the centre of his head just between the eyes. I could feel everything, the slick wet coats as they came out, the puffs of warm air as they took their fist breaths, heard their snuffles as they cleared their lungs and noses. I think there were eight of them, five mostly white who were born first, and three mostly brown who were the last ones born. Each was maybe six to eight inches long from nose to bum.

Is this my subconscious mind trying to tell me the only way I am going to have a loyal mate and kids would be to marry a canine? I swear I haven't been watching werewolf movies lately!

Blah

Had what should have been a good day. Started early with a few hours of chat with my dear friend in 'bama, she who is almost as crazy at cat lady as I am. Played WoW for a bit, then caught a bit of a nap before Kender came over with her sprogs to cook her supper (they are out of gas for their stove so she borrowed my oven in return for leaving me a lasagna and some salad stuff.) Dyed her hair for her from multi-hued reds and browns back to solid blue-black, which knocked ten years off her age to look at her, and I was invited over for supper and to watch men in spandex throw each other around. Didn't feel right about going there for supper tonight. Even though she assured me that neither of the nephews who aren't speaking to me would be there, I can't help but feel something would be wrong if I went there. Got a call trying to give me a Bell mobile phone for free, told them I wasn't interested. Minutes later my phone rings again, the same number. Nope, not going to answer. Went up to the garden after helping Kender get the kids and the lasagna into her car, it has been rainy so my feet are soaked but I got a few more tomatoes and jalapeƱo peppers, and a couple of carrots. Pulled some rhubarb with intent to make chutney tonight but I am thinking I might just go back to bed. I feel deeply tired, drained and down. Had to use every last cent of my overdraft and credit card to buy McCoy's prescription today; if he doesn't get his phenobarb he will have seizures, so my pink kitty gets his epilepsy meds even if it means the power bill waits and I live on rice and tomatoes a little longer. Thank the Gods my garden is producing mightily. I would love to say I enjoyed today, and I did smile and laugh much while I had visitors, yet I still had that abiding sadness and feeling that something is looming just over the horizon waiting to crush me flat as soon as I dare lift my head and my mood again. I hope my friends are having better days, and that those of you who are dealing with depression have better luck with the fight than I have had recently.

Warped speculation/fic?

When I was younger I thought the best thing to do was not to have kids. After all, the world is already overtaxed with people, adding more isn't going to help matters any. Then I realized I was wrong. As is, the smart folk don't breed but the morons do since they feel no qualms about using up resources and destroying the world. They just sit back, pop another beer and laugh at another mindless "reality" show.
That's when it clicked.
The best way to control the population and make sure the resources of our planet are plentiful.
Smart folks MUST reproduce, and we must take active control of thinning the herd.
The first step was to make the stupid ones slow moving and docile.
TV, video games and fast food took care of that.
The next step was to make them weak -- those wonderful cans and bottles of soda are handling that quite nicely. Can't build muscle on high fructose corn syrup.
Now there's the fun part. It would have been easy to start slipping contraceptives into the cola once we controlled the manufacturing process, but not nearly as fun.
The next step came with a little game of chance. Contact poisons on coins left laying around in low income areas. Did you wonder why the banks made coins to replace low denomination bills? It had nothing to do with the stories you may have heard about coins lasting longer than bills. It has everything to do with surface area and the ability to wash the contact poison off when it gets to the processing centres after it has done it's job.
It's a strange sort of thrill, watching to see who stops and looks around before scooping that two dollar coin off the sidewalk, rubbing the dirt off to make sure they are seeing what they think they are -- some of them even bite down on it like in old movies, as if it might not be real. Bonus for us; the poison acts that much faster.
Sadistic? Perhaps, but once the plan has been in effect for a few more years then my children will be safe to walk the streets at night because no-one will be so hungry that they have to resort to crime. There will be lower rents because landlords will be desperate for people to fill apartments. Traffic problems will be a thing of the past. Think about it -- the percentage of people who have to drive to a nine to five job will be drastically reduced. When it leaks out that people are being randomly poisoned, and it will leak out, people will start travelling in shared vehicles for safety. Do you think it will ever occur to them than their bus fare is more suspect than the daily drive-through coffee fix?
It's brilliant, really. I'll even give you a hint to make the game a bit more of a challenge. There are stores giving out the coin for us as well. You can always spot them; the clerks wear surgical gloves.
Have a lovely day, won't you? And don't take any wooden nickels.

Dollhouse thoughts

Tonight's Dollhouse confirmed some of my suspicions and tweaked a few new ones. I hope Fox is sensible enough to renew the show and give Joss as many seasons as he wants/needs to tell the story he has in mind. I love the show, I love that he keeps living up to my expectations and that I am never bored by an episode.

Decisions

Do I want this to become another clone of my LJ and IJ, or do I want to keep this one more public, general community news and referrals to sites I find interesting... Decisions, decisions.
Making it a clone means figuring out how to get my Semagic to post to a third journal in the "post to multiple" feature; must be possible if I could remember how.
Keeping it light and newsy might actually get me some outside readers.
Do I want outside readers?
This, methinks, requires some cogitation.
